Exclusive: West Ham tracking Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah after Haller exit

Standard Sport understands that Arsenal striker Nketiah is also another name on the Hammers’ radar and they are keeping tabs on his situation.

The 21-year-old is into the final 18 months of his contract at Emirates Stadium and West Ham are keen to know if the Gunners would be open to a possible deal.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal would entertain the idea of a loan move for Nketiah, who has made over 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

A permanent deal could be more attractive to Arsenal, particularly as the striker is yet to agree a new contract and funds from his sale could be reinvested in the squad.

Arsenal would like to sign a creative midfielder this January, however funds are limited and they are currently looking at loan options.

Arteta wants to keep the forward at Arsenal, but the youngster is assessing his options as he wants assurances over game time.

Nketiah’s departure would present Balogun with more first-team chances and could help persuade him to stay at Arsenal.
