FA Cup draw in full: Manchester United vs Liverpool; Chorley vs Wolves

Chorley, who play in the National League North, defeated Derby County 2-0 in the third round after the Rams were forced to play their Under-23 side due to a Covid-19 outbreak.

The side from the sixth tier will now be eyeing a Premier League scalp after they were handed a home tie to Wolves.

That, however, was not the biggest game of the round as Manchester United were drawn at home to rivals Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have now been drawn against Premier League opponents 17 times in 26 domestic cup draws since he was appointed.

The victor of the grudge match will then face either Stockport, West Ham or Doncaster for a place in the last eight.

Elsewhere, Chelsea and Tottenham secured ties against Championship opposition. The Blues will host Luton, while Spurs will travel to Wycombe.

If victorious, Chelsea will face the winner between Barnsley and Norwich for a place in the sixth round. Tottenham, should they beat Wycombe, will face either Everton or Sheffield United.

Arsenal will also be on the road and will travel to either Southampton or Shrewsbury – whose third round match was postponed after a significant number of Shrews players and staff tested positive for coronavirus.

The League One club did not have enough fit, non-isolating players to play the game at St Mary’s Stadium. The winner – be it Arsenal, Southampton or Shrewsbury – will face the victor between Chorley and Wolves for a place in the quarter-final.

The 16 fourth round ties will be played across the weekend of January 23 and 24. The eight fifth-round ties will be played on Wednesday, 10 February.
