FIFA 21 Rulebreakers: Predictions, release date and what we know so far

With many FUT fans expecting the Ultimate Scream promo this week, a brand new FUT 21 promo called Rulebreakers will be released instead.

EA confirmed on Wednesday evening that the next FIFA 21 Ultimate Team promo will launch this week, with the official EASPORTSFIFA Twitter posting a teaser graphic that showed off a new card design, a new colour scheme and the name of the new FUT 21 promo, although most of the letters are blurred out.

However, thanks to popular FIFA Twitter account @FutWatch, we know that the new promo will be called Rulebreakers, with EA seemingly leaking the name within the game code ahead of the promo launch.

It has yet to be confirmed if the new Rulebreakers promo will be a replacement for the popular Ultimate Scream promo, or whether it’s simply a brand new promo that will be launched individually. It’s also unclear which players could be included, and whether players will get position changes, attribute boosts or both!

But there are certain things that we do know, including when the new FUT 21 promo will begin. So, what can we expect from the new FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo? When will the FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo be released? And, what players could be included in the FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo?

FIFA 21 Rulebreakers predictions

Here are some players we think could be included in the FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo, based on what we think could be interesting.

  • Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
  • Joel Matip (Liverpool)
  • Houssem Aouar (Lyon)
  • Edouard Mendy (Chelsea)
  • Phil Foden (Man City)
  • Anthony Martial (Manchester United)
  • Adama Traore (Wolves)
  • Harry Maguire (Manchester United)
  • Lucas Ocampos (Sevilla)
  • Sergino Dest (FC Barcelona)
  • Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)
  • Kingsley Coman (Bayern Munich)
  • Bernardo Silva (Man City)

It’s unclear at this stage if we will see players with upgraded attributes and ratings, that change throughout the year, or whether the players included in the promo will be given one-off upgrades that stay for the entirety of FUT 21. We could also see some position changes too for the FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo, which would fit in nicely with the name.

FIFA 21 Rulebreakers confirmed release date

The FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo will start on Friday October 23 2020, with the first Rulebreakers squad set to be released at 6pm UK time. There is also likely to be two Rulebreakers squad releases in FUT 21, with the second FUT 21 Rulebreakers squad likely to be released on Friday October 30 2020 at 6pm UK time.

Traditionally, the FUT Ultimate Scream promo has been released on a Friday, around two weeks before Halloween on October 31. For FUT 20, the Ultimate Scream promo began on Friday October 18, 2019 and for FUT 19, the Ultimate Scream promo began on October 19, 2018. So, Rulebreakers may well be an outright replacement for Ultimate Scream in FUT 21.

FIFA 21 Rulebreakers SBC’s and objectives

In FUT 20, this is what was on offer for players in the Ultimate Scream promo, so we can expect similar from the FUT 21 Rulebreakers promo. Here are our FIFA 21 Rulebreakers SBC’s and objectives predictions.

  • Rulebreakers Themed Player Items – 22 Rulebreakers players (two squads) were available in packs with upgraded ratings as unique items.

FIFA 21 is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, having been released on October 9, 2020.

Fans who jump into FIFA 21 can also benefit from Dual Entitlement, enabling them to upgrade their copy of the game from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S at no extra cost.

All progress made or content acquired within FIFA 21 Ultimate Team (including players, items, coins, FIFA Points, match record, and leaderboard placement), as well as all progression in VOLTA FOOTBALL will transfer over to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
