The 22-year-old centre-back has signed a five-year deal to keep him at the club until 2025, with the deal capping off a fine transfer window for Jose Mourinho, who earlier on Friday described chairman Daniel Levy as a “genius”.
Rodon, who made 21 appearances for Swansea last season, while earning his first call-up to the Wales national side, will wear the No14 shirt.
The defender also started in all three of Wales’ matches during the recent international break.
Rodon’s move means Mourinho finally has another defender to work with after Tottenham had been heavily linked with a move for Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan.
Though Spurs have made a highly exciting start to the season, they are yet to keep a clean sheet in their eight games in all competitions, with Rodon to now provide competition to Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld.
As they have done with previous signings, the Tottenham media team also hit the nail on the head with Rodon’s announcement video.
The duo of Gareth Bale and Ben Davies welcomed their international team-mate in a hilarious video, where they first rejected the arrival of an unnamed Welshman, before quickly providing their seal of approval.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have also confirmed defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has joined Championship side Bournemouth on a season-long loan after spells with Stoke and Luton last season.
