Fears have been raised over Gabriel Martinelli’s future at Arsenal following another stellar display for the club.

The young Brazilian winger was one of the few positives to come out of the 2-0 Premier League loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night. But Jurgen Klopp’s praise for the Arsenal star has raised fears among the Gunners fanbase that the German may try to poach the winger off his rivals.

It comes as Patrice Evra has suggested the Gunners got away with a near transfer miss following January target Arthur Melo’s latest performance. And Mikel Arteta has avoided being punished over his rant about Arsenal’s fixture congestion.

Arteta avoids punishment

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will not face any punishment from the Premier League over his complaints about the Gunners’ fixture congestion.

Arteta lashed out at his side’s upcoming fixtures following the 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Wednesday night. Arsenal now face Aston Villa in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off before having fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester United within the space of three days next month.

The Gunners boss went on a rant about the fixture congestion after the loss to Liverpool, and the Premier League and FA’s stance on the comments has now been revealed.

Near transfer miss

Premier League legend Patrice Evra has suggested Arsenal were fortunate not to seal the signing of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo during the January transfer window.

The Gunners were widely reported to have pushed for the signing of the Brazilian in January but couldn’t get the deal over the line as Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu had a frustrating transfer window. And while working as a pundit on Italian TV for the Champions League clash between Juventus and Villarreal, Evra was highly critical of Arthur.

The ex-Juve player slammed the Brazilian’s performance – and his criticism seems to suggest the Gunners got away with a near-miss in the January window.

Martinelli fears

Famous Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has raised fears that Gabriel Martinelli could move to Liverpool following another impressive display by the winger.

Martinelli was a constant threat for the Gunners despite falling to a 2-0 defeat on Wednesday night following quickfire goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino. The Arsenal ace has received admiring glances from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp in the past, and the Liverpool manager was full of praise for him once again following the match at the Emirates Stadium – raising fears he could try and poach the youngster.
