Georginio Wijnaldum has urged Paris Saint-Germain to sign Paul Pogba, claiming every club in the world would like to have him.
The Manchester United midfielder has just one year remaining on his deal at Old Trafford and his future is the source of constant speculation.
Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola infamously claimed his client’s time at United was ‘over’ and that he would push for a move in 2021.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to keep the midfielder at the club, but there is a growing concern he could leave on a free next summer.
Real Madrid has been touted as a potential destination, while reports in France have suggested PSG could sell a number of their stars in order to fund a bid.
Les Parisiens have already been active in the summer window, adding Wijnaldum from Liverpool, along with Gianluigi Donnarumma, Achraf Hakimi and Sergio Ramos.
But Wijnaldum, who was officially unveiled as a PSG player on Thursday has told his new employers to now try and bring Pogba to the French capital.
“He is incredible, I have played against him several times and what a fabulous player!” Wijnaldum told RMC. “All the teams would like to have him.
“If you ask any player from another team if he would like Paul Pogba to join him, everyone will say yes because he is an extraordinary player, full of qualities. He has it all. one of the best midfielders in the world.
”But the way I see football… Last year I saw it a lot: when a lot of players get injured and you always have to play with the same ones, it’s hard.
“There are so many games between the league, the cups, Europe, that you not only need a good eleven but also a good rotation. That’s how we form the best possible team.
“We need all the players for a season. And coming back to your question, yes, I would love to have Paul Pogba with us here because he’s a great player. “
Wijnaldum opted to join the French giants, despite serious interest from his boyhood team Barcelona.
He added that he reached that “very difficult” decision thanks to their more efficient negotiations.
“It’s funny because, I must admit, that it was a very difficult choice. I’ve supported Barça since I was young, I’m a fan of the club.
“We were in negotiations with them and I had a good feeling but I was also negotiating with other clubs, PSG arrived before Barça [but] we’d just talked, they weren’t really negotiations.”
