The summer is poised to be a busy one for those at the top of the Chelsea hierarchy, while the players sun themselves on a well-earned holiday after their Champions League heroics, Thomas Tuchel and co. will be on the prowl for new talent to strengthen the side.
Despite only arriving in late January, Tuchel guided the Blues to two major finals in six months, losing the FA Cup final 1-0 to Leicester City before ending up on the right side of the same score-line in the Champions League final against fellow Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Never ones to rest on their laurels, Chelsea are already trawling the market for talent that could see them mount a serious title tilt and end the recent Man City & Liverpool dominance.
Tuchel’s side nearly missed out on a top-four finish after they were beaten 2-1 on the final day of the campaign by Aston Villa, but their blushes were spared after Leicester City capitulated for the second-season in a row to miss out on Champions League football.
In a bid to steer clear of a similar panic and vie for the league next season, the Blues already have their sights set on a number of targets, as well as a one shock departure.
Here, Mirror Sport brings you the latest transfer news and rumours from around Stamford Bridge.
£150m player wants Chelsea move
Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland is reportedly interested in exploring the possibility of a move to Chelsea.
According to the Telegraph, Chelsea may have emerged as shock front-runners in the race for the 20-year-old’s signature.
Haaland is wanted by just about every single ‘super club’ on the continent, but those at Stamford Bridge are rumoured to be encouraged by the news.
Chelsea are thought to be willing to wait until next summer to make an official move, as by that time the striker’s release clause will have lowered to anywhere between £65m and £86m.
Ziyech relationship with Tuchel ‘broken’
The Moroccan international has endured a difficult debut season in West London, struggling to impress both previous manager Frank Lampard and current boss Tuchel.
Signed for £40m from Ajax, Hakim Ziyech has struggled to have the kind of impact his price tag implied he would.
At 28 years of age the attacking midfielder does not have the luxury of time spent trying to adjust to the league, his record of 10 goal contributions, (six goals, four assists) in just shy of 40 appearances is hardly a ‘money well spent’ kind of return for Chelsea.
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have now claimed that Ziyech’s relationship with Tuchel is ‘broken’, while the player is ‘officially on the transfer list’.
A number of Serie A outfits are reportedly interested in ending Ziyech’s Chelsea nightmare, with Napoli circling while AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is thought to be an admirer.
Callum Hudson-Odoi up for sale
Having made just 11 starts under Tuchel, Hudson-Odoi could call time on a Chelsea career that once showed such promise.
Recent reports from The Times claim that German giants Bayern Munich have reignited their interest in the 20-year-old and are weighing up their options ahead of a potential summer move.
As Chelsea look to bolster their own attacking options, Hudson-Odoi appears to have been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
This is not the first time Bayern have tried their hand at signing the young star, the six-time Champions League winners had multiple offers for Hudson-Odoi rejected by Chelsea in 2019, including a bid worth £35 million.
