Horse racing tips today: Newsboy’s best bet goes for Ludlow win

BUSTER THOMAS can kick-start an important few days for Emma Lavelle by winning at Ludlow.

The Tanners Claret Handicap Chase (2.30, NAP) entrant goes for glory ahead of his star stablemate Paisley Park in Saturday’s Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot.

Buster Thomas arrives at the Shropshire venue with a string of places to his name – but he gets his chance over a longer trip this afternoon.

Of late he has been staying on in his races and the extra distance should be in range at this flat track.

He meets several out of form rivals, plus predicted favourite Earlofthecotswolds has to give him more than a stone in weight.

At Newbury, THE BOMBER LISTON is tipped to strike in the Every Race Live On Racing TV EBF Stallions ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle (2.20, NB).

JP McManus’ four-year-old has shown promise on both his starts to date in bumpers.

Andrew Gemmell, owner of Paisley Park (centre) celebrates with the trophy alongside jockey Aidan Coleman and trainer Emma Emma Lavelle (centre right) after winning the 2019 Stayers’ Hurdle

Aidan Coleman was unlucky not to win on him last time, when he found his path blocked at a crucial moment.

Nicky Henderson’s runner was pipped to the post – and he should make a winning start over hurdles for the same rider.
