Arteta admits there are ‘still some things’ for Arsenal to do in window

Arsenal let out two weeks and two defeats worth of stress and anger on a very youthful West Bromwich Albion side.

A hat-trick from captain Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and goals from Nicola Pepe, Bukayo Saka, and Alexandre Lacazette, secured a 6-0 win against The Baggies.

While this ruthlessly impressive victory will be a huge confidence boost, it does nothing to alleviate the big pile of question marks around this side and Mikel Arteta.

However, there is still time for the North Londoners to add to their squad – Daily Mirror Sport looks at what could be happening at the Emirates Stadium before Transfer Deadline Day.

Aouar still a possible option

The Gunners are seemingly still on the lookout to bolster their attacking ranks and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar remains an option for the north Londoners, according to reports.

Links between Lyon midfielder Aouar and Arteta’s side have been very strong for years, with the Gunners even refusing to pay £53million for him last season.

However they have not given up hope – and may be back in for him this summer.

Aouar’s value has depreciated significantly, and Arsenal have even be offered the chance to sign the midfielder this season.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: “Tottenham have been offered the chance of signing Houssem Aouar as new midfielder, Arsenal too”.

The French side have even reportedly become accepting of the fact they may have to accept a fee as small as £17m to sell him.

Aubameyang took the match ball with him after grabbing a hattrick

After Aubameyang smashed in a hattrick for the Gunners against the shell-shocked Baggies, Arteta endeavoured to fully clarify Aubameyang’s position at the club.

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is our player and he will remain here,” Arteta bluntly said in the press conference ahead of his side’s contest with Manchester City.

The former Borussia Dortmund striker still has two years left on his contract, however, his immense dip in form last season triggered a flurry of assertions suggesting the Gunners could be willing to part with the Gabon star.

Their opponents Manchester City were rumoured to have been considering a late bid for the 32-year-old striker, after they saw their bid to sign Harry Kane collapse.

Arsenal eying up Belotti

Andrea Belotti could be a potential option for Arsenal

Italy Euro 2020 champion Andrea Belotti has emerged as a potential striking option for The Gunners.

Reports from The Daily Mail are suggesting the Torino forward could be on Arsenal’s radar as they look to add more firepower to their attacking options.

Even though Martin Odegaard recently returned to the Emirates for £30m, another attacking outlet appears to be on their shopping list coming into Transfer Deadline Day.

The 27-year-old striker is valued at around £21m by his side Torino, and it appears the Serie A side are looking to offload the forward, having already offered him to Inter Milan, according to reports.
