“We have a training session today, we had two or three players who finished the game [against Crystal Palace] with some issues, and we had to assess them today,” said Arteta on Thursday.
As of Thursday, Saka had not trained but Arsenal will hope he is fit enough to start what is a big game against Aston Villa.
Arteta hasn’t made too many changes given the Gunners face Leeds in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and fringe players will get more minutes then.
Alexandre Lacazette is someone who has pushed himself to start against Aston Villa, though, after scoring against Palace.
Arsenal starting XI (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tavares, Partey, Sambi Lokonga, Saka, Smith-Rowe, Aubameyang, Lacazette.
