How we expect Arsenal to line up against Aston Villa tonight

“We have a training session today, we had two or three players who finished the game [against Crystal Palace] with some issues, and we had to assess them today,” said Arteta on Thursday.

As of Thursday, Saka had not trained but Arsenal will hope he is fit enough to start what is a big game against Aston Villa.

Arteta is unlikely to make too many changes given the Gunners face Leeds in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and fringe players will get more minutes then.

Alexandre Lacazette is someone who could push himself to start against Aston Villa, though, after scoring against Palace.

Arsenal predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Lokonga; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang.

Friday 8.00pm BST, Sky Sports

Arsenal squad from: Leno, Ramsdale, Okonkwo; Cedric, Chambers, Gabriel, Holding, Kolasinac, Mari, Tavares, Tierney, Tomiyasu, White; Elneny, Lokonga, Maitland-Niles, Odegaard, Partey, Saka, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang, Balogun, Lacazette, Martinelli, Nketiah and Pepe.
