How we expect Chelsea to line up against Sheffield United

He oversaw a 1-0 win against Tottenham on Thursday and has challenged his players to build on that against Chris Wilder’s relegation-fighting side.

But he is likely to be without Thiago Silva, who suffered a thigh injury against Spurs, while Kurt Zouma and Kai Havertz both missed the match after pulling up in training this week.

Tuchel said: “We have only two days. Maybe we need some changes to be sharp again and to be physical again and so that we are able to compete on the highest level in the next game and able to compete against a strong Sheffield and a very physical Sheffield side which won the last games.

“This is all we focus on and the rest we have no influence on. We have enough to do to take care of ourselves.”

On Thiago’s injury, he added: “It will be very tight for Sunday. It is only in two days, but it is hard to give a diagnosis because I saw him only very quickly in the dressing room with a big strap around his muscle.

“We will have to wait until tomorrow so we can confirm it, but I think for Sunday he is a big doubt and I don’t think that he can play.”

Chelsea predicted line-up: (3-2-4-1) Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Jorginho, Kante; James, Mount, Pulisic, Alonso; Werner
