How we expect Manchester United to line up against Newcastle

Ronaldo trained with the club for the first time since signing from Juventus last week having been released early by Portugal due to a suspension and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the Portuguese forward will be “on the pitch at some stage”.

Jadon Sancho picked up a knock while away on England duty but is expected to be available, while Solskjaer may also be able to call upon Scott McTominay and Alex Telles for the Premier League clash.

The game may come too soon for McTominay to start after his groin issue, though, leaving Solskjaer with a midfield conundrum if Fred is also ruled out after not being released for international duty.

That may mean a start for either Nemanja Matic or the seemingly out of favour Donny van de Beek.

Marcus Rashford remains a longer-term absentee after having shoulder surgery.

That should allow Mason Greenwood further opportunity to continue an excellent start that seen the young forward score thrice in three Premier League games.
