How we expect Real Madrid and Liverpool to line-up in Champions League

Sergio Ramos picked up a calf injury on international duty with Spain and is set to miss both legs, as well as next weekend’s Clasico at home to Barcelona.

Dani Carvajal and Federico Valverde are also expected to miss out, though could return for the Anfield clash. Raphael Varane was rested for the win over Eibar with Tuesday’s game in mind.

In more positive injury news for Zinedine Zidane, Eden Hazard should make the matchday squad as he works his way back from his latest injury setback.

Liverpool continue to have their captain, Jordan Henderson, sidelined, along with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

Divock Origi could make the matchday squad, otherwise it’s a case of as you were for Jurgen Klopp.

Diogo Jota once again made his case to start with a fine cameo off the bench against Arsenal, though Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all fit.

Georginio Wijnaldum will be pushing to replace James Milner.

Real Madrid predicted XI: Courtois; Varane, Militao, Nacho; Vazquez, Modric, Casemiro, Kroos, Mendy; Vinicius, Benzema

Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Thiago, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
