How we expect Tottenham to line up against Aston Villa

T

he visit of Aston Villa has been overshadowed by news of Harry Kane’s desire to leave Tottenham in the summer but Ryan Mason insists the forward remains “100 percent committed” to finishing the season well and will start on Wednesday night.

The 10,000 supporters returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may be robbed of the chance to see the dream front four of Kane, Gareth Bale, Dele Alli and Heung-min Son, however, with Mason saying the Wales forward may not be ready to start again.

“I am not sure,” Mason said of Bale.

“He also knows his body. He is a question mark for tomorrow. We are not sure whether or not he is going to be ready. It is down to the player, he is experienced enough. We’ll see.”

Serge Aurier has returned to group training but Japhet Tanganga is likely to keep his place at right-back after a solid showing against Wolves on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Mason is unlikely to ring the chances, with the interim head-coach having largely settled on a team for the run-in.

Ben Davies remains the only known injury absentee with a calf problem.

Spurs (probable 4-2-3-1) XI: Lloris; Tanganga, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Lo Celso; Lucas, Dele, Son; Kane.

Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Wednesday 19 May, 18:00
