How we expect Tottenham to line-up against Leicester

J

ose Mourinho backed Steven Bergwijn after the winger was targeted on social media for missing two big chances in the defeat to Liverpool but the Tottenham manager may opt to take him out of the firing line against Leicester on Sunday.

Tanguy Ndombele is set to return to the side after being an unused substitute at Anfield, which could see Giovani Lo Celso move into the front three against Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Elsewhere, there are unlikely to be any major changes for Tottenham, with Wednesday’s EFL Cup quarter-final at Stoke a better opportunity for Mourinho to rotate his squad.

Sergio Reguilon should return at left-back, however, after Ben Davies was preferred against Liverpool, while the Portuguese may opt to bring in Matt Doherty at right-back if Serge Aurier is feeling leggy.

Gareth Bale is expected to be available again after illness but a start against the Potters is more realistic. The same goes for Dele Alli, Carlos Vinicius and Harry Winks, who can, at least, be confident of being named on a nine-man bench on Sunday.

Predicted Tottenham XI (4-3-3): Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Sissoko, Ndombele; Son, Lo Celso, Kane.
