How we expect Tottenham to line up against Man City

Kane did not train with the squad on Friday due to the ankle injury which he sustained at Everton last week but interim head-coach Ryan Mason was hoping to know more on Saturday, while admitting the England captain was running out of time.

If Kane is fit, he could replace Lucas Moura in the XI, just as he did in Tottenham’s last final in the Champions League in 2019.

Giovani Lo Celso is the other candidate to drop out for Kane but the Argentine adds an extra element of protection in midfield, which will surely be useful against City.

Otherwise, Mason can be expected to stick with the side that beat Southampton 2-1 on Wednesday, with goal-scorers Gareth Bale and Heung-min Son charged with providing the x-factor if Kane does not make it.

Joe Rodon is cup-tied, while Ben Davies (calf) is expected to be the only player unavailable through injury.

Spurs (probable 4-2-3-1) XI: Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Ndombele; Bale, Lo Celso, Son; Kane.

Venue: Wembley Stadium; Sunday, April 25; 16.30pm

Unavailable: Rodon (cup-tied), Davies (calf)
