How we predict Man United will line up vs Everton today

Cavani scored a header as United headed into half-time 4-0 up, but was taken off at the interval with an ankle injury.

However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects Cavani to be fit to face the Toffees. Anthony Martial – who replaced the veteran at half-time and went on to score twice – will be ready if Cavani not fit to start, though the French forward may have done enough to earn a start alongside the Uruguayan.

Luke Shaw was afforded a rest for the second half against the Saints, though will almost certainly start at the weekend.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin likely to offer the greatest attacking threat for Everton, Solskjaer would likely opt for Eric Bailly over Victor Lindelof at centre-back given his aerial ability – but the Ivorian is now an injury doubt.

Man Utd predicted lineup (4-3-1-2): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Fred, Pogba, McTominay; Fernandes; Rashford, Cavani

Injury list: Phil Jones (knee)

Doubt: Edinson Cavani (ankle), Eric Bailly (knock)
