United breezed into the last-16 of the Europa League on Thursday night, with a goalless home draw against Real Sociedad sealing a 4-0 aggregate victory.
Solskjaer named a surprisingly strong starting XI with Bruno Fernandes as captain, but the Portuguese star was taken off at half-time for a rest along with Fred and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The United boss would normally go 4-2-3-1, but with the likes of Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay doubts for the trip to west London – and Paul Pogba definitely out – Solskjaer could look to switch things up.
Solskjaer has deployed a three-man defence at the Bridge in the past, so Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire could all start to bulk up the spine of the team given United’s current midfield injury concerns.
Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw will almost certainly start and could be pushed further upfield into wing-back roles, with Fred and Nemanja Matic sitting in midfield.
Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood should all start and could be given roaming roles in a three-man attack with Anthony Martial flattering to deceive of late.
Were one or both of McTominay or Cavani to recover, a 4-2-3-1 would be more likely for United – but as it stands, a switch could be in store as Solskjaer tries to outwit Thomas Tuchel.
