How we predict Tottenham will line up against Wolves today

The midfielder was injured during Spurs’ defeat at Leicester last weekend and is unlikely to return during the Christmas period.

“I don’t know (how long he will be out). I believe that he will not be playing in this period of Christmas and New Year for sure.”

Gareth Bale is another injury concern for Spurs after the winger asked to be substituted at half time during the 3-1 Carabao Cup win against Stoke on Wednesday, complaining of a calf problem.

Tanguy Ndombele was left out of the Spurs squad for the match, but he will be available for the upcoming games.

Mourinho said: “Tanguy is fit, but he didn’t come to Stoke. My decision, but he is fit.

“I was with seven subs on the bench and then one day I could have nine and then the next day I could have seven in the Carabao Cup.

“If I could have nine, he would have been at Stoke, but I could only have seven. If I had him, I couldn’t have had Dele or other players. So I left some players behind. I left (Steven) Bergwijn, Tanguy, Serge Aurier.”

Mourinho insists he has no concerns about Harry Kane’s ability to handle to festive schedule, saying: “I hope he plays the next match again. It was Wednesday, the next match is Sunday.

“I believe a player like him that works hard and takes good care of himself with a great professional life, I believe in three days he will be ready to play against Wolves.”

Predicted Tottenham XI (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Aurier, Alderweireld, Dier, Davies; Sissoko, Hojberg; Begwijn, Ndombele, Son; Kane
