Manchester City players celebrate title win

Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has landed on the Spanish island of Ibiza as he continues his celebrations following the Sky Blues’ Premier League title win.

Grealish went viral on Monday for his part in City’s title celebrations in which Pep Guardiola, his staff and players all celebrated on an open-top bus parade and across the city of Manchester.

During the parade, Grealish jokingly mocked Portuguese winger Bernardo Silva following City’s dramatic 3-2 win over Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium in which Guardiola’s side came from 2-0 down with less than 20 minutes of the game remaining.

Following those celebrations, Grealish has now landed on the party island of Ibiza and has been pictured alongside Wayne Lineker, brother of Gary, who owns the Ocean Beach Club in Ibiza, a hotspot among celebrities. To celebrate Grealish’s arrival, Lineker posted a photo of the two of them on Instagram, with the caption “here he is,” followed by an emoji of a trophy.

Grealishs’s friend DJ Russke had uploaded a picture of them on a private jet headed to the white isle captioned: “Summer starts now. The Brummies in Ibiza.” The City star was sporting a pair of bright yellow sunglasses as they tucked into a fancy meal on board.

During Monday’s title celebrations, Grealish grabbed the headline for his antics. During the open-top bus parade, Grealish joked after replacing Bernardo Silva in the title win: “It’s my first title and I want to thank everyone, but the main person I want to thank is Bernardo Silva for coming off in the 70th minute because he was miles off it yesterday!”

That led to Silva replying with a joke of his own, adding: “Keep Jack Grealish on the f****** bench.” During the celebrations, Grealish was also filmed singing along to ‘We Are The Champions’ by Queen, while drinking beer and wearing a special scarf with his face on it.

Following Sunday’s crucial title win, Grealish said: “After the third goal went in I ran on the pitch then I ran down the tunnel just crying my eyes out. As a kid all you want to do is play in the Premier League, then you want to win it.

“We know with our quality we can beat anyone, which we did in the last 20 minutes or so. (It means) everything. When I signed friends and family asked me ‘what do you actually want to win?’ and for me I’ve always wanted the Premier League.

“It (playing for City) is more difficult than I thought, but I’ve enjoyed every minute. I stepped out of my comfort zone, new changing room, new surroundings. It has been difficult, but this today makes up for it.”

City’s hopes of taking their haul of Premier League titles to seven next season will be boosted by the two forward arrivals at the club.

Argentinian Julian Alvarez will link up with the City squad following the end of his loan from River Plate, while Erling Haaland will also be with the Premier League champions after completing a £51.2m transfer from Borussia Dortmund.
