Jake Paul to fight former UFC star Ben Askren in third pro boxing bout

Jake Paul will face former UFC star Ben Askren on April 17 in his third professional bout.

The YouTube star will take on the former mixed martial artist over eight rounds on pay-per-view at a location to be determined.

It will be Askren’s first professional boxing fight and his first bout of any description since his final UFC fight against Demian Maia in 2019.

“I know Jake Paul is enjoying pretending he is a fighter,” Askren told ESPN.

“I think on April 17 he is going to have a rude awakening to what being a fighter is really like. Jake has led a privileged life and doesn’t really know what the meaning of being a fighter is. I’m going to put his dreams to an end.”

Paul has victories over fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib and former NBA player Nate Robinson on his boxing record.

The 24-year-old, who is the younger brother of Logan, first laced up the gloves in 2018 when he took on Deji Olatunji, the younger brother of KSI.

Paul won by fifth-round stoppage and then made his professional debut in Miami early last year.

He followed that up with a brutal second-round KO of Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson’s exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr last November.
