Fury has pulled out of his grudge fight with YouTube star Paul who will now take on Tyron Woodley for a second time
Jake Paul is set to face Tyron Woodley for a second time after Tommy Fury pulled out of his fight with the social media star.
Paul outpointed Woodley in August to record his biggest win to date in his fourth professional fight.
And the former UFC welterweight champion is expected to step in on short notice to save the December 18 card, which will also feature the boxing debuts on NBA star Deron Williams and NFL legend Frank Gore.
Woodley had petitioned for a second shot at Paul having agreed to have “I love Jake Paul” tattooed on his body but despite having the message inked on his finger, Paul instead agreed terms with Fury.
But the brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson has now pulled out of the fight less than two weeks before the first bell.
Fury’s reason for pulling out is as yet undisclosed, but Mirror Fighting sources have indicated that Paul’s team were informed late last night of his decision to miss the bout.
The card will still go ahead in Tampa, Florida, with Amanda Serrano facing Miriam Gutierrez in the co-main event and Williams taking on Gore in a heavyweight contest.
