Following his emphatic first-round defeat of fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib in January, Paul – younger brother of fellow internet personality and now boxer Logan – knocked down his overmatched opponent three times en route to a devastating second-round stoppage on Saturday night in a fight that served as the chief support for the eight-round exhibition contest between legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr in Los Angeles.
While questions over the legitimacy of such fights will only increase after the hoplessly one-sided bout against Robinson, Paul is not planning to step away from the ring anytime soon as he once again confidently stated an intention to meet – and comprehensively defeat – MMA duo McGregor and Dillon Danis.
“I’ve been training my ass off, for the past year. I’m taking this seriously,” Paul told Triller, before revealing that he came into Saturday’s fight nursing a broken nose after a fall while meditating that left him unable to spar until three days prior.
“There’s a long list of opponents that I want – Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis, I’m going to knock them both out.
“There’s my brother, there’s KSI on the line, Austin McBroom. I want to be in this sport for a long time and I’m in love with it, so why not?”
Paul’s call out prompted a quick response from Danis, who retorted on social media: “You just fought a retired nba reject, be careful what you wish for little guy.”
McGregor of course has prior boxing experience following his high-profile defeat by Floyd Mayweather Jr in a money-spinning crossover contest in 2017.
The Irishman is set to continue his UFC career with a rematch against Dustin Poirier in 2021.
