Jake Paul v Tommy Fury: Tale of the tape

Amir Khan has warned Jake Paul he could be bady hurt by Tommy Fury in their grudge showdown later this month.

The rivals will finally touch gloves in two weeks time in Florida on December 18 after their fight was confirmed.

Paul will be making his latest outing as a YouTube fighter hoping that a victory can help establish himself as a bone fide boxer.

But British star Khan expects Fury to prevail.

“I think Tommy’s a great guy and a great fighter,” Khan told Pro Boxing Fans. “I know Tyson, his brother really well. But, I just feel that Jake Paul is going to get hurt in this fight.

“I like Jake as a fighter, he’s messaged me a couple of times, but at the end of day Tommy is a future champion and he wants to fight someone like that, [Paul] can get hurt badly.”

Paul has not yet taken on a fighter with a natural background in boxing, having fought former UFC stars Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley in addition to streaming sensations Deji and AnEson Gib.

But he is undefeated during his short career and produced a dominant display last time out to dismantle Woodley despite being rocked in the fourth round.

However Fury is set to hold advantages having a natural background in boxing which also includes training from his heavyweight champion brother Tyson, who will be in his corner in America.

Although only fighting limited opposition during his seven-fight professional career, Fury will go into the fight as marginal favourite despite this arguably being the biggest occasion of his career.

Many have questioned if the pressure could prove a restricting factor to Fury, but the 22-year-old is adamant that the tension will play no part due to Paul’s limited experience.

“If I was fighting a world champion who has been undefeated for ten years there would be pressure,” Fury told Queensberry Promotions.

“They are banking on me to get shaky legs and twitchy before the fight but it isn’t happening.

“They have looked at my last fight and thank god they have, because all I am going to say to the millions of people watching, is that you have to do certain things to get certain fights.

“If they have been stupid enough to fall for that trap which they have because I am sitting here now, let them keep watching that fight. I am going to come out like a caged animal because this is the fight that I wanted.

“Would knocking his sparring partner clean out have got me this fight? No it wouldn’t, he would have run a mile. This game is about brains and I have a lot more than him clearly.”
