Ronaldo says he ‘cannot wait’ to play at Old Trafford again

Daniel James has joined Leeds United from Manchester United on a permanent deal for a fee of around £25m, almost three years after he had first appeared to be heading to Elland Road.

The Wales winger conducted interviews with club media and even posed with a Leeds shirt back in January 2019, only for the terms of his switch from Swansea to fall through.

He ended up staying in south Wales until the end of the 2018-19 season, before completing a £15million switch to Manchester United.

James, who has 24 caps for Wales, started well at Old Trafford, but ended up being squeezed out of the side by the likes of Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani, with this summer’s signings of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo further affecting his game-time.

Surprisingly, he did start the 1-0 win at Wolves on Sunday, but after an early withdrawal for Cavani that has proven to be his final appearance for the club.
