Jurgen Klopp mural in Liverpool vandalised with graffiti penis

A mural of Jurgen Klopp has been vandalised by thugs who graffitied a penis over the Liverpool manager’s image.

The street art depicts Klopp looking to the heavens while touching the Liver bird on his chest and was unveiled on a wall in the Baltic Triangle area of central Liverpool in December 2018.

Crafted by praised graffiti artist Aske – who has also depicted Muhammad Ali, Stephen Hawking and David Bowie in his work – the mural took two days to complete.

It was a major attraction in the trendy Merseyside district but has been spoiled by vandals who graffitied a penis over the work.

But it has been tarnished by vandals

The mural is one of many that have popped up across the city in recent years. Another of the Reds boss accompanied by a Liver bird is found further along Jamaica Street.

Elsewhere, Jordan Henderson lifting the Premier League title is depicted on the corner of Anfield Road, while Trent Alexander-Arnold can be seen accompanied with the quote: “I’m just a normal lad from Liverpool whose dream has just come true.”

Alexander-Arnold succumbed to a calf injury during the 1-1 draw with Manchester City last Sunday and is facing a spell of four weeks on the sidelines.

Klopp was hugely critical of the Premier League’s scheduling after the match, while he has since seen Joe Gomez suffer a serious knee injury while on England duty.

“The Premier League has to change. Sky, BT, you – everyone has to talk to each other,” the German said. “You want good football? Give the boys a few hours more rest.”

Klopp added: “I spoke to the Premier League already and spoke to Pep (Guardiola) before the game about the five substitutions.

“Everyone watching is like: ‘Oh, that’s interesting.’ But we have to change things and help the players.

“We want to play football, it’s great. But playing Wednesday night and then 12:30 on Saturday is a crime and we have to change that.”
