Kane not fixated on beating Greaves’ Tottenham record after 200th goal

H

arry Kane was pleased to reach a double century of goals for Tottenham, but insists he is not fixated upon smashing records at the club.

The England captain headed home a Lucas Moura corner inside 13 minutes on Thursday evening to give Spurs an early lead in their Europa League clash against Ludogorets in Bulgaria.

However, the striker is not focusing on reaching that next milestone and says he will have more time to reflect upon those achievements when his playing career is finished.

“Time goes so quick, it feels like yesterday scoring that first goal (against Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League, aged 18) for Spurs,” he said.

“It is a great achievement to reach 200 goals but for sure I hope there is a few more left so let’s keep them coming.

“(Beating records) is not on my mind, you guys will let me know when I get the next one, but it is hard to take it in when you are playing, I think once you finish you take it all in.

“I have got to keep going, keep winning as a team and we will be alright.”
