Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may look for reinforcements in the January transfer window to keep his team’s bid of winning an unprecedented quadruple this season alive
The result maintains their hopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple this season… but only just.
Time is running out, though, with just nine days remaining in the transfer window.
Here, Mirror Football rounds-up all the latest transfer rumours from Anfield, including Liverpool’s reported interest in a teenage talent.
Who should Liverpool sign in January? Let us know in the comments below!
Klopp’s late push for striker
The striker, 23, is out of contract in June and has enjoyed a decent season so far, scoring seven goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances.
Klopp’s side have been linked with Muani for some time and it’s believed he could be available for just £7million.
Italian giants AC Milan, French outfit Marseille and German side Eintracht Frankfurt are also thought to be interested in the talent.
Muani is yet to earn his first senior cap for France but has received praise from many within the game, including Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Analysing one of the striker’s goals earlier in the season, Henry said: “I like it a lot. I always say, ‘You’ve got the ball, don’t panic.’ He didn’t panic. Well done.”
Raphinha’s contract talks
Leeds have opened contract talks with Liverpool target Raphinha, according to the Daily Star.
The West Yorkshire side are believed to be keen on keeping the Brazilian winger, 25, at Elland Road amid interest from the Reds, German champions Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
Raphinha’s existing deal expires in two-and-a-half years, giving potential suitors the chance to snap him up in the summer.
He joined Leeds from French outfit Rennes in October 2020 and has impressed this season, scoring eight goals in 18 Premier League outings.
“I like Raphinha, who they’ve been linked with. He’s a good player, he’s very intelligent, he’s good on the ball,” said former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson last month.
“He’s got a bit of Riyad Mahrez about him, the way he glides around. “He could be a good impact player for them. He’s a realistic target.
“No disrespect to Leeds, but the player is going to want to go to a top team. Leeds are struggling and could want to take the money.
“There are other players out there, but sometimes it’s too difficult to get them out of their clubs. With Raphinha, it’s a real, serious opportunity.”
Reds eye-up teenager
The England youth international, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season and reportedly rejected an renewal offer in November.
Many clubs in Italy, France and Spain – including Barcelona – are also thought to be keen on the teenager.
Liverpool can snap Carvalho up on a free transfer this summer, although they would have to pay Fulham a compensation fee for nurturing his talent.
Carvalho has scored seven goals in 16 Championship games this season, firing Fulham to the top of the table.
“Fabio has natural talent, and when you have natural talent, that is the first big step to have a big career and to get to the top,” said Fulham manager Marco Silva earlier this week.
“Fabio has other things that are really important. He comes in every day to work really hard, with the right mindset to learn, and he’s humble.”
