KSI claims admits ‘mistake’ in Tommy Fury loss and explains how he wins rematch

KSI insists he would be ’10 times better’ in a rematch against Tommy Fury.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer fell to defeat for the first time in his five-fight (4-1) pro career last October against the brother of former heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

Their six-round contest was initially declared a majority decision with one of the three judges scoring it a draw at 57-57.

However, it was later revealed that the judge in question hadn’t added up their card correctly, and had actually seen the fight 57-56 in Fury‘s favour, meaning the result was changed to a unanimous decision.

Neither man has fought since, with both boxers being sidelined by hand injuries.

But when they both return to full fitness, KSI is keen to run it back with the ex-Love Island star and insists he won’t make the same mistake that he feels cost him their inaugural encounter.

He told The Sun: “I wouldn’t want to make any excuses against me and Tommy.

“I think – but this is again my fault – it was the weight. I should have fought him at a weight that I was really comfortable in.

“We put up 186 or 185 but I was struggling to even make that weight.

“Whereas now I’m in a position where I’m happy to be at 185 and I’m not gonna struggle to try and get to it.

“I remember when I had to weigh in, I had to drink a load of water just to try and make the weight just to try and get on to the scale and hit 185.

“I was very light when I was fighting Tommy. Whereas now you know, I’ve decided to put on a lot more muscle, get a bit bigger, stronger.

“And I feel like if we were to have a rematch, I’d just do ten times better.”

KSI was supposed to return to the ring on August 31 in a bizarre two-on-one tag team fight against Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor.

However, he was forced to pull out of the contest after damaging his hand playing golf.

According to KSI, the injury will rule him out until 2025.

“I’m thinking hopefully Q1 of next year,” he added of a possible return date.

“I think that’s what we’re looking to aim at. I think any time this year it probably just doesn’t make sense.

“And it’s one of those things where the longer I let it heal, the better for the future rather than me trying to rush back into fighting again and then just get injured again.”
