The advisors of Kylian Mbappe are said to be exasperated at the timing of a recent interview carried out by the Paris Saint-Germain star player.

The French superstar conducted a published interview with his club teammate Neymar at the end of May, in an interview which was published this summer.

Mbappe states in the conversation with the Brazilian that his “biggest dream” would be to win the Champions League with the Parisian club.

Europe’s premier club competition has so far evaded the 22-year-old – he tasted defeat in the 2020 showpiece against Bayern Munich while his side fell at the semi-final stage to Manchester City last season.

The interview has now been published at a time when Mbappe’s future is under intense scrutiny as he is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal in the French capital.

It is claimed that the striker sees his future away from the club, and he is the subject of long-term interest from Real Madrid, but the latest interview appears to directly contradict that.

Mbappe has so far decided not to commit his future to the club and AS have now cited a report from L’Equipe that his entourage are frustrated with the timing and content of his interview.

The report claims that the striker is unsure of the club’s long-term project and he is unwilling to tie his own future to the club definitively.

It is added that PSG sporting director Leonardo has broken off official negotiations with the striker amid the uncertainty with the player’s future now mired in uncertainty.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi is said to be the main individual attempting to convince Mbappe to sign up to a new deal with the club, but as things stand he is available to leave as a free agent next summer.

The recently published interview highlights a conversation between Mbappe and Neymar – the two superstars in the French capital who have formed a formidable partnership in attack.

Mbappe started by asking: “I’m not very good as a journalist. What would I ask Neymar? What is your big dream for you after everything you’ve achieved?”

Neymar responded: “My biggest dream with PSG is to win the Champions League and with Brazil to win the World Cup. And for you, Kylian, is it to win the Champions League, right?”

Mbappe questioned “Why not another World Cup?”, to which Neymar said: “No, the next World Cup is for me. I ask Kylian the same thing. What is your next big dream after winning the World Cup?”

Mbappe then admitted he is also set on tasting Champions League glory with PSG, saying: “My biggest dream is to win the Champions League with PSG, that would be fantastic.

“But winning another World Cup would be very good too.”

Mbappe has won the World Cup with France – a trophy that has evaded Neymar – while the Brazilian won the Champions League in 2015 with Barcelona.
