Lawrence Okolie vs Krzysztof Glowacki – LIVE!

kolie vs Glowacki – LIVE!

London cruiserweight Lawrence Okolie will attempt to become a world champion for the first time tonight.

Anthony Joshua’s protege battles the experienced Krzysztof Glowacki for the vacant WBO cruiserweight belt at The SSE Arena, Wembley.

Title glory in only his 16th professional fight would see Okolie match Joshua’s early career exploits and leave the Hackney favourite setting his sights on unification and then a potential move up to join his manager in the heavyweight ranks.

But he should be in for a stern test against Glowacki, a former two-time world champion whose only defeats in a 33-fight career to date came against Oleksandr Usyk and Mairis Briedis.

This title bout was originally supposed to happen in December, only for Glowacki – who has not fought at all since June 2019 – to withdraw as a result of contracting Covid-19.

Fowler stops Fortea in third round

It was a potent left jab that did the damage initially for Fowler, before a lead right hand sealed the second and decisive knockdown.

Fortea was given the chance to get to his feet, but was ultimately counted out after the bell.

Really impressive from Fowler.

Fowler vs Fortea

Fowler forcing the tempo, throwing out that left against the awkward, heavily-tattooed Spaniard and trying to work the body.

A good counter right from Fortea, but Fowler lands a cracking right hand of his own.

A superb left jab has Fortea down!

Fortea gets back to his feet, but Fowler goes for the finish and sends him sprawling to the canvas again as the bell sounds with Fortea slumped against the ropes!

Fowler vs Fortea

Fortea – who looks to have solid defence and a good burst of speed to lurch forward on the counter – starts the second with a sharp jab before a couple of furious exchanges.

Fowler tries to settle down behind that stiff left jab, later unloading to the body.

A right shot upstairs goes in from Fortea and Fowler seems a bit wary, but ends the round on the offensive off the back of that leading left.

Not many of those punches seemed to land, though. Fortea defensively astute.

Fowler vs Fortea

Fowler looking to find his mark with that leading left hand as he takes the initiative early on.

Fortea content to stay tucked up and defend before springing forward and driving in snapping left and right hooks to the body before the bell.

Fowler vs Fortea next

Liverpool’s Anthony Fowler vs Jorge Fortea of Spain for Fowler’s WBA International super-welterweight belt is next!

This fight was originally supposed to be on the Kelly-Avanesyan card last month.

Scotney beats Gangloff

59-55 on referee Marcus McDonnell’s scorecard.

Plenty more to come from Scotney.

Scotney vs Gangloff

A good finish from Scotney, who lands a selection of nice punches and a solid combination that includes a well-timed right hand.

A straightforward win in her second professional contest.

Scotney vs Gangloff

Scotney steps on the gas at the start of the fifth, but it’s Gangloff again that quickly gets back to trying to dictate the tempo.

Excellent conditioning and she’s attempting to come forward all the time, but it’s Scotney still landing the better punches.

Scotney vs Gangloff

Again, energy and commitment from Gangloff, but nothing much to trouble Scotney, who lands well to the body.

Scotney vs Gangloff

An easy night’s work for Scotney at the moment.

That left uppercut is such a dangerous shot.

Gangloff is not lacking energy and determination, but she’s not landing much of note despite trying to force the pace.
