Leicester City fans concerned by Youri Tielemans gesture amid Man Utd links

Leicester City fans are fearing that Youri Tielemans could be set for a summer exit as he did a solo lap of honour after their 4-2 defeat to Tottenham.

Brendan Rodgers’ men came up short in their bid to finish in the top four for the second consecutive year as Chelsea grabbed the last Champions League spot despite their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Supporters were understandably gutted at narrowly missing out on qualification for UEFA’s flagship competition once again, but they were worried about something else at full-time.

Tielemans took the time to go around the King Power Stadium by himself, applauding the fans during a lap of honour.

The Belgian midfielder has yet to agree a new contract with the Foxes and reports have linked with him with a move to Manchester United in the summer.

And Leicester fans thought it was a sure sign the 24-year-old was saying farewell to them and will be leaving the club in the upcoming window.

@ SamLCFC98 said: “Tieleman’s crying and doing a lap around the pitch on his own clapping and waving to fans. Please don’t leave Youri.”

Tielemans has been a huge success in the Premier League since his move from Monaco was made permanent in 2019 after a brilliant initial loan spell with the Foxes.

He’s enjoyed an impressive season and will go down in Leicester history books as he scored the winning goal to secure their first-ever FA Cup.
