Gary Lineker hailed Liverpool ‘s “wonderful” Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian capped a sensational display with a sizzling solo strike in the Red’s 5-0 win over Watford.

Jurgen Klopp’s side cruised past the Hornets, with goals from Salah, Sadio Mane and a hat-trick from Roberto Firmino catapulting them to the summit of the Premier League.

But it was Salah who stole the show after netting a wondergoal in the Reds rout at Vicarage Road.

The Egyptian attacker weaved his way past a flurry of defenders before bending a splendid strike beyond a helpless Ben Foster for Liverpool’s fourth strike.

And the star was immediately showered with plaudits from pundits – with Lineker one of the first of the mark to hail the ex- Chelsea ace.

Gary Lineker was quick to praise Liverpool star Mohamed Salah after his wondergoal

The Match of the Day host tweeted: “One of the things I love about Mohamed Salah and there are many, is that however things are going for him in a game, he always plays with a smile on his face. Such a wonderful player with a personality to match.”

Salah’s remarkable goal was strikingly similar to the outrageous strike he netted during Liverpool’s last fixture against Manchester City.

The 29-year-old finished a magical run with a deadly finish as the Reds drew 2-2 with Pep Guardiola’s side in their last league clash before the international break.

But he arguably topped it with his moment of magic against the Hornets.

And it was a strike that left former Liverpool star Steve McManaman drooling.

“It was an incredible goal, I’m not even going to talk let’s just watch it,” purred the BT Sport pundit. “It’s gorgeous, so many aspects to the goal, puts Cathcart on his backside, Ben Foster can’t do anything about it, the confidence beautiful, beautiful thing.

“He is the best in the world. I was going through my mind, I’ve seen Mbappe in Ligue 1, Messi not played enough, maybe Lewandowski because he’s been scoring for Bayern but not these types of goals and arguably against the best around two weeks ago against Manchester City, he’s doing it and doing it and doing it.

“I can’t think of anyone playing better football than Mo Salah at the moment.”

McManaman’s stance on Salah being the best player in the world on current form was also backed by fellow pundit Joe Cole.

“There’s an argument for it [best in the world], he’s certainly the best player in this country, he’s in the form of his life, that little chop on his right foot that is so difficult, to fool the defender and to get it out of your feet, the strike was lovely, he was a pleasure to watch,” added Cole.

“He’s such a top, top player. You don’t really appreciate it until you see what he does off the ball. He reminds me of how Ronaldinho was, he is freakishly strong.”
