Chelsea officials are making plans for the summer transfer window after becoming European champions, and are set to continue splashing the cash in order to continue building a strong team for Thomas Tuchel.
The Blues are eager to sign a new centre-forward, with the club eager to improve Tuchel’s options up top.
Frank Lampard signed Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech last summer, but the club is still without a number nine.
Chelsea are also set to continue offloading players, with a number of fringe assets likely to be sold.
Here are today’s latest Chelsea transfer rumours, including updates on Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane…
Abramovich leading Lukaku charge
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is said to be leading the club’s push to sign Inter Milan star Lukaku.
The Italian champions will have to sell players in order to balance the books and ease their financial burden, with Lukaku potentially on the way out.
And Abramovich is said to have given his full support to a move.
However the Blues aren’t the only team interested in the Belgian – and Tottenham may well step up their interest should they land Antonio Conte as their new manager.
Conte has emerged as the favourite to replace Jose Mourinho and former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara has backed the north Londoners to swoop for Lukaku.
Asked if Lukaku could replace Kane, O’Hara told Sky Sports News: “Absolutely. In my opinion Lukaku is world class.
“A world-class striker, I think he was under-appreciated at Manchester United.

“He didn’t perform unbelievably well there but at Everton he was awesome, at Inter Milan this season he’s been one of the best strikers in the world.
“He hasn’t got as much to his game in terms of I think Harry Kane is the complete forward.
“But Lukaku is something special and the way Antonio Conte plays, he plays another striker up with him, he plays this 3-5-2 formation.
“Try and keep Harry Kane and get Lukaku as well, play them both!”
Ross Barkley update
Ross Barkley is set to be one of the players on the move from Stamford Bridge this summer.
The midfielder spent the year on loan at Aston Villa, but is unlikely to be signed permanently.
As a result, he’s back on the market, with West Ham reportedly interested in making a move of their own.
Whether the Hammers step up their interest depends on the future of Declan Rice, who has strongly been linked with a summer exit.
Lineker’s Kane claim
Kane seems to be an ambitious target for Chelsea, considering the rivalry they have with Tottenham.
And Gary Lineker believes it’s unlikely that he’ll sign for the west London side.
He said: “I think it is more likely that one of the Manchester clubs can afford him outside of Chelsea. I don’t think he would go to Chelsea and do that to the Tottenham fans but who knows?”
