Liverpool 3-1 Osasuna – Reds end pre-season on high as Firmino bags brace

Liverpool wrapped up pre-season in style after goals from Takumi Minamino and Roberto Firmino were too much for Osasuna, who were defeated 3-1 at Anfield.

Minamino opened the scoring after a brilliant pass from Fabinho played through the Japanese winger, and his effort was deflected in.

Firmino quickly added two more before half-time, and Minamino was influential in both, setting Tsimikas free for the first and crossing to the Brazilian for the second, who was cool and composed for both finishes.

Osasuna added a consolation goal late on, as Ruben Garcia’s cross was headed in by Kike at the far-post, but the damage had already been done.

Liverpool looked sharp and dangerous throughout, and head to newly promoted Norwich on Saturday for their Premier League opener.
