Liverpool will be hoping to build on their late momentum from last season ahead of the new campaign at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s men rescued a potentially disastrous campaign by finishing third in the Premier League after a late flurry of victories.
Champions League qualification enables the Reds to be ambitious in the transfer window as they aim to get back to winning silverware under their German boss.
Klopp will be boosted by the return of the likes of Virgil Van Dijk and Jordan Henderson next season, while he could also benefit from some new additions.
Mirror Football has rounded up the latest Liverpool transfer news and taken a look who is reportedly on the Anfield radar.
Klopp identifies possible Salah replacement
Liverpool have reportedly identified Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The Reds have no plans to sell their Egyptian star, though his long-term future at Anfield is unclear with two years left on his current deal.
And reports in Italy suggest in-form Berardi is being considered as Klopp looks to bolster his attacking options.
Who should Liverpool sign this summer? Let us know in the comments below
Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Reds are lining up a potential move for Berardi, who has shone in the opening two group games of Euro 2020 with Italy.
It is claimed Sassuolo have put a €50m (£43m) price tag on the 26-year-old, who netted 17 goals in 30 Serie A appearances last term.
Reds join Ben White chase
Liverpool are said to have joined a number of clubs in the chase for highly-coveted Brighton defender Ben White this summer.
The Reds are looking forward to welcoming back Van Dijk and Joe Gomez after long-term injuries next season.
Bu they could yet be in the market for another central defender despite the signing of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
Sky Sports reported that Arsenal have had a £40m bid turned down for White, who is currently on England duty at the Euros after replacing the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold in Gareth Southgate’s squad.
However, a move for White seems unlikely at this stage as Klopp has already signed a high-profile central defensive option this summer in Konate.
Liverpool loan stance on Neco Williams
Neco Williams has been touted for a loan move in the summer transfer window in order to accelerate his development.
The young Welsh right-back has been linked with moves to Championship sides Swansea City, Cardiff City and Stoke City.
But Paul Gorst, Liverpool FC correspondent for the Liverpool Echo, has suggested Liverpool don’t plan on sending Williams out on loan.
Speaking on the Liverpool Echo webchat, Gorst said: “I think the plan for Williams is for him to stay put.
“He’s only 20 and a fully fledged international. It cost Liverpool around £11m for a Robertson back-up last summer in Tsimikas, so loaning Williams would need them to get one for the right side too.
“The hope is that a lack of injured centre-backs might allow more rotation in full-back areas next season.”
