At the top of his list is a new midfielder, with a replacement required for Georginio Wijnaldum who left Anfield on a free transfer at the end of last season.
Klopp is also looking to boost his attacking options after a downturn in form in front of goal last season.
With the German eyeing a Premier League title bid in the upcoming campaign, the Reds will need to step up their business soon.
Here, Mirror Football brings up the latest Liverpool transfer news…
Liverpool make Saul contact
Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguel has emerged as one of Liverpool’s top targets for the summer transfer window.
The Reds are searching for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who departed on a free transfer at the end of last season.
Saul has emerged as the top target to take Wijnaldum’s position in Liverpool’s midfield, having won La Liga with Atletico last term.
According to Marca, while United are seen as his likely destination, Liverpool have been in contact with the 26-year-old’s representatives over a move to Anfield.
The Spanish newspaper goes on to state that a bid in the region of £43million should be enough to convince Atletico to sell.
Oxlade-Chamberlain edges towards exit
After a season hampered by injuries, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain looks likely to depart Anfield in this summer’s transfer window.
The Englishman has impressed when selected in Liverpool’s midfield, but injuries have not allowed him to show his true potential.
With Jurgen Klopp seeking to raise funds as he looks to bring in star talent such as Saul Niguez and Federico Chiesa.
Who should Liverpool make their next signing of the summer? Comment below.
Oxlade-Chamberlain appears to be one of those who will be allowed to leave to bring in that money, though it seems the former Arsenal star could stay in the Premier League.
But at this stage they are only eyeing a loan bid, and with Oxlade-Chamberlain likely to be third-choice at the London Stadium, an agreement is unlikely.
Shaqiri demands departure
Xherdan Shaqiri has admitted that he has demanded a departure from Liverpool this summer, having seen his game time limited in recent seasons.
The Swiss international has struggled to break past Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, with Lazio reportedly eyeing a move.
And the 29-year-old has now revealed that he has told the Reds he wants to leave, with the club ready to grant his wish.
“The important thing at this moment in my career is to be able to play regularly, but that hasn’t always been the case in the last three seasons,” Shaqiri told Corriere dello Sport.
“This is why I told Liverpool that I feel ready for a new challenge. They accepted my wish and will seriously consider the offers that will come. They will not stop me.
“I have played in some of the best Leagues in Europe and I would like to continue being a part of them. I’m not yet thinking about the end of my career, it’s a future I imagine far away.”
