Liverpool vs Fulham: Premier League – LIVE!

Liverpool desperately need to right their torrid run of home form as they welcome survival-chasing Fulham to Anfield this afternoon.

The Reds were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in midweek, a result which brought with it the sorry milestone of five successive home league defeats for the first time in the club’s history.

Far from defending their Premier League title, Jurgen Klopp’s side now have a real battle on their hands to even finish in the top-four.

Fulham, meanwhile, looked doomed to relegation early in the season but have improved markedly under Scott Parker and another campaign in the top flight is now a real possibility.

Only a dubious handball decision – so dubious in fact, that the law is set to be changed – denied the Cottagers a point against Tottenham in midweek and Parker’s men will fancy taking advantage of Liverpool’s slump.

Defensive headaches continue

Liverpool‘s defensive problems have once again worsened ahead of the visit of Fulham this afternoon with January signing Ozan Kabak the latest to sustain an injury.

“Ozan had, after the [Chelsea] game, a little problem,” Jurgen Klopp told reporters. “We will see if he is ready for Fulham but it doesn’t look like it at the moment.

Klopp has already lost centre-backs Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip for the season, whiled Fabinho only returned after injury on Thursday.

In a rare boost, Liverpool may be able to call upon defender back Nat Phillips after he missed the Chelsea game, while there is also a chance deadline-day signing Ben Davies, who has yet to make an appearance, could be back in the squad.

Standard Sport prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Fulham

What has happened to Liverpool? Fulham will fancy their chances of leaving Anfield with at least a point on Sunday after another valiant display against Spurs and watch Liverpool create absolutely nothing against Chelsea. Honours even at Anfield.
