Lucas Moura insists Tottenham have the “capacity” to end Liverpool’s reign as Premier League champions.
Moura and his Spurs team-mates are currently sitting at the summit of the table after the first nine matches of the new season.
Tottenham are level on points with the defending champions, although they have a superior goal difference than the Merseysiders.
It’s early days yet, but Spurs’ position atop of the Premier League tree has some of their fans dreaming of lifting the trophy at the end of the season.
Moura believes it’s too soon for the team to think about ending the club’s 60-year wait to win the league but is adamant they have the right mentality to do so.
“Why not think to win the Premier League?” Moura said ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League clash with Ludogorets. “We have the capacity to win.

“I know it’s too early and there’s a lot of games to play but we need to in every game think we are capable of winning the Premier League and that every game is important.
“That’s why in every game we are trying to show that mentality and we are doing very well. We need to keep that going.”
Moura attributes the squad’s belief in themselves to the winners’ mentality Jose Mourinho has instilled during his year at the club.
He said: “Everybody knows Mourinho. He is a winner and he has won trophies at every club.
“I want to win with him and I think we deserve to win a trophy. The last ten years the club did well and it’s time.”
Spurs will welcome Bulgarian champions Ludogrets to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday night.
