Arteta admits there are ‘still some things’ for Arsenal to do in window

Arsenal have spent over £100m on new recruits this summer yet have endured their worst start to a season since the 1950s.

Mikel Arteta has seen his side lose three on the bounce without scoring and could see a host of fringe players leave on deadline day.

Eddie Nketiah is one of those as he faces up to the prospect of a lack of minutes due to the club’s attacking options.

Arteta was open to the idea of more business occurring at the Emirates as the window nears its close.

“I think things will happen and I don’t know if it’s going to be in or out but normally the last week or so something will happen,” he said.

These are the latest rumours concerning the Gunners.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles has posted a clear message on Instagram

AMN’s social plea

As far as public acts go Ainsley Maitland-Niles has left little to the imagination.

Arsenal ’s versatile star is desperate for some regular first team action but remains at the Gunners with less than 24 hours of the transfer window left.

He has taken to Instagram and posted a clear message to his 455,000 followers whilst also tagging Arsenal.

Maitland-Niles said: “All I wana do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gona play”.

The 24-year-old is a product of the club’s academy and spent last season on loan at West Brom.

Everton are the latest club to be linked with the Gunner, who has been capped by England.

Palace pushing for Eddie

Talks between Arsenal and Crystal Palace are continuing over a fee for Nketiah, but a gap remains between the two clubs’ respective valuations, reports Sky Sports.

A German club are also keen on the young striker, who has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

The north Londoners have attempted to hold talks with the 22-year-old but so far no resolution has been found.

Nketiah was sent out on loan to Leeds previously, but his first team chances at the Emirates remain at a premium.

Last term the Arsenal striker scored six times in 29 appearances.

Feyenoord eye Nelson after Amad issue

Reiss Nelson is set for a season-long loan to Feyenoord, reports

The Dutch side were close to agreeing a deal for Manchester United’s rising star Amad, but the move was cancelled due to his recent injury.

And now they have found their replacement with Nelson who has been on the fringes of Mikel Arteta’s side.

Last season the winger made just nine appearances in all competitions and has a host of individuals ahead of him in the pecking order in north London.

Nelson previously excelled in a loan spell at German side Hoffenheim and will hope to rediscover his best form in mainland Europe.
