Man City receive fresh Kane update as star tipped to complete Juventus transfer

Manchester City’s prolonged interest in Harry Kane is undoubtedly one of the transfer stories of the summer.

The Etihad club approached Tottenham with a £100million offer for the Tottenham talisman in June and saw their advances rebuffed.

There was a sense that City’s initial approach may have been a sign of things to come, but their chances of signing Kane appear to be fading as the transfer window wears on after a fresh decision by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus has been backed to make the move to Italy, while City have reportedly agreed to sign an MLS wonderkid.

Here is Friday’s Manchester City transfer round-up.

Spurs standing firm on Kane

Kane scored 23 goals in the Premier League last season to win the Golden Boot

Tottenham remain as determined as ever to keep hold of Harry Kane this summer amid heavy interest from Manchester City.

That’s according to the Manchester Evening News , which claims Spurs chairman Daniel Levy have decided his side will not cash in on the England captain.

City tested the water with a £100million approach for Kane last month which was swiftly rejected by Tottenham.

Levy values the 27-year-old – who has three years remaining on his contract – at as much as £150million.

But the chances of any club offering such a sum this summer appear very slim, meaning Kane looks set to stay at Tottenham for at least season.

That is good news for newly-appointed manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who can be increasingly confident of keeping hold of the Premier League Golden Boot holder.

City set to land MLS starlet

Manchester City have agreed a deal in principle with LA Galaxy to sign teenage prospect Alejandro Alcala, according to ESPN .

Alcala turns 16 until October and is set to move to the Etihad when he turns 18 in 2023, with Pep Guardiola’s side reportedly beating Barcelona to his signature.

The California-born starlet is believed to have trained at City’s Etihad Campus, while he has pledged his international future to Mexico.

Jesus backed to join Juventus

Gabriel Jesus has been tipped to move to Juventus by his former Manchester City teammate Danilo amid ongoing uncertainty over his future at the Etihad.

Jesus, 24, has failed to establish himself as City’s first-choice No. 9, as evidenced by the club’s pursuit of Harry Kane following Sergio Aguero’s departure this summer.

The Brazilian scored just nine goals in the Premier League last season but Danilo – who was on City’s books for two years – would relish the chance to join forces again in Serie A.

He said: “Gabriel is strong and very intelligent. In Italy he could grow further because in Serie A the teams close well and it is more difficult to score. If I could, I would take him to Juventus.”
