Pep Guardiola’s side were comfortable winners last time out in the top-flight, clinching a third title in the space of four seasons in the process.
The Sky Blues will now look to build on that tally by claiming top spot once again – but Guardiola’s men are likely to face strong competition.
Harry Kane and Jack Grealish remain City’s main transfer targets, though both players would smash the club’s record transfer fee should a deal be completed.
Mirror Sport have rounded up the latest transfer rumours…
Nuno sends Kane message
Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo has made clear that he has no plans to sell Harry Kane.
The 27-year-old striker is a top target of City’s in the transfer window as they look to fill the void of club legend Sergio Aguero.
City saw an initial £100million offer knocked back by Spurs, but are yet to give up hope of completing a deal.
Nuno has played down talk of an exit, however, and maintained Spurs’ firm stance on the situation.
He added: “Now is the moment for Harry to recover. When he comes back, we will speak. I’m looking forward to Harry joining the group and us working together”.
Mahrez discusses City future
Riyad Mahrez has addressed rumours that he could be leaving the club in the transfer window.
The Algerian winger has not always been a first-choice option for Guardiola and had been linked with a switch to Arsenal this summer.
But the 30-year-old has set the record straight on his future, stating:
“What if I want to go higher? I do not see what is higher,” he told YouTube channel Oui Hustle . “To try another championship [elsewhere]? No. I really love England and English football is wonderful. I don’t want to leave. I still have goals to pursue here.
“When you see [Pep] Guardiola wants you, it’s flattering. The acclimatisation here was not easy, but our relationship today, everyone knows [is great].”
Sterling to be offered new deal
Should City cash in on Raheem Sterling this summer or should he stay at the club? Comment below.
Raheem Sterling will be offered a new contract by Manchester City, despite being listed for sale by the club.
The 26-year-old has two years remaining on his current deal but is “unsettled”, according to a report by the Athletic.
The England international has been with the Sky Blues for six years and City will reach out to try and extend his stay.
City’s transfer priorities remain signing Jack Grealish and Kane, however.
