Man City vs West Ham: Premier League – as it happened

It’s 20 wins on the bounce for Manchester City in all competitions after another success against West Ham on Saturday lunchtime.

The league leaders are now 13 points clear at the top, with Manchester United and Chelsea – who are second and third – facing each other tomorrow.

Pep Guardiola’s side needed goals from their centre-halves to overcome the in-form Hammers as Ruben Dias netted his first for the club before John Stones fired home the winner after Michail Antonio had equalised for the visitors.

City weren’t quite at their best, with Sergio Aguero looking particulalrly rusty on his first league start since October, and West Ham should have nicked a point late on when Issa Diop headed wide in stoppage time.

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Stones, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Torres, Aguero

West Ham XI: Randolph, Johnson, Coufal, Dawson, Diop, Cresswell, Soucek, Rice, Lingard, Fornals, Antonio

Vladimir Coufal looks on the verge of tears as he comes off, shows just how close West Ham came to getting something here. It won’t harm their confidence at all ahead of a big run of games.

FULL-TIME | Man City 2-1 West Ham

Twenty in a row for Man City!

A massive chance as Lingard bends in a great cross and Diop is free but heads too far back across goal and wide!

90+3 mins: He’s left it late, but Fernandinho picks up his customary cynical yellow card for a late one on Jarrod Bowen.

90+1 mins: We’re playing four added minutes…

89 mins: A final City change – Gundogan makes way for Rodri for the last few minutes.

86 mins: You can tell that West Ham still fancy this. Rice and Lingard in particular are driving them on as we enter the final few minutes of normal time.

84 mins: Johnson and Antonio are the two men to have made way.

82 mins: It looks like David Moyes is going to finally turn to his bench – Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen are imminent.

79 mins: It’s City who look more likely to add to the scoreline here. Gundogan combines nicely with Zinchenko to feed Mahrez but his shot is deflected behind for a corner, which West Ham eventually clear.
