Man United vs AC Milan: Europa League – LIVE!

Two giants of European football meet at Old Trafford this evening as Man United host AC Milan in the first leg of their last-16 tie.

Not so long ago, a meeting of these two would more likely be found at the business end of the Champions League, and indeed the last time they clashed was in the last-16 of Europe’s premier club competition 11 years ago. Now, though, it is a place in the quarter-finals of the Europa League at stake.

Milan made hard work of reaching this stage, needing the away goals rule to overcome Red Star after a 3-3 aggregate draw.

United, on the other hand, breezed past Real Sociedad 4-0 on aggregate, all the hard work done in the first leg before a goalless draw at Old Trafford in the second.

Standard Sport prediction: 1-0 home win

With United high on confidence off the back of that Manchester derby victory, they will fancy their chances – but their inconsistency will also offer Milan hope of taking something away from Old Trafford.

Man United team news

Dean Henderson is set to cotinue in goal for United with David De Gea in Spain. Luke Shaw starred against Man City but Solskjaer revealed the left-back only played after a late fitness check, so it would be no surprise to see Alex Telles given a chance.

Marcus Rashford picked up an ankle injury at the Etihad and could be rested, with Dan James likely to switch to the left with Mason Greenwood coming in on the right.
