Manchester United have long been linked with the Bayern Munich midfielder and now the latest reports suggest Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could make a move
Arsenal and Manchester United are ready to battle it out to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso, according to reports.
The Red Devils were linked with Tolisso last summer, only to prioritise other positions in what turned out to be a hectic end to the summer window.
A year on, and United have appeared to have a much clearer vision, already landing Jadon Sancho, while a move for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane has been agreed in principle.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could yet be in the market for a central midfielder with hopes of revamping his formation in the upcoming season.

Tolisso has struggled for regular gametime in his four seasons at the Allianz and with less than a year remaining on his current contract, Bayern could be willing to cash in while they still can.
Last summer, it was reported that United were quoted £31m for the Frenchman, but this time around BILD claim he will be available for just £8.5m.
That bargain fee could also interest the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta also looking for reinforcements in midfield, despite Granit Xhaka’s U-turn.
The Swiss international looked destined to leave the Emirates, only for Arteta to persuade him to stay in north London, with a new contract now firmly on the agenda.
Thomas Partey did pick up an injury in pre-season however, which could accelerate the Arsenal boss’ plans in the final weeks of the window.
Tolisso signed for Bayern in 2017 for a fee of €41.5m after bursting onto the scene with Lyon in France.

Former United defender Rafael da Silva played alongside the Frenchman in Ligue 1 and previously described him as “one of the best midfielders I’ve played with” and “perfect” to play in the Premier League.
Asked about his future at the end of last season, Tolisso told L’Equipe: “I want to focus on the Euros. I’m not asking any questions about my future.
“I was so focused on my comeback in the past three months that I haven’t had any thoughts.”
Meanwhile, Arteta has refused to rule out further signings before the end of the month, having already sealed deals for Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White.
He said: “I don’t know what will happen. Again I repeat myself. We train with the players we have available.
“We try to do the right things to improve the team in the areas that are needed. At the moment we came so far and there’s still a window that is open.”
