Thomas Tuchel has seen Romelu Lukaku arrive at Stamford Bridge and is now turning his focus to the other targets on his shopping list, including Monaco midfielder Tchouameni
Though the German appears to have a squad fit to challenge for the Premier League title, the Blues boss is keen to boost the overall quality of his team.
That is set to start in central defence, with Tuchel appearing to make the position a priority for the final weeks of the window.
There are also set to be outgoings, as Tuchel seeks to move on some of the deadweight in his bloated squad.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Chelsea transfer news…
Blues yet to submit Kounde bid
Chelsea are reportedly yet to submit an official bid for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, despite Thomas Tuchel having made him one of his top targets.
Tuchel is looking to boost his options at the heart of defence, with Kounde quickly emerging as his preferred target.
Kounde has impressed for Sevilla since joining from Bordeaux two years ago, quickly becoming a regular.
Having signed Lukaku, Tuchel is now turning to defence, with 22-year-old Kounde at the top of shopping list.
According to AS, the Blues have already reached an agreement over personal terms with the Frenchman.
But it is also stated that they are yet to make a formal offer for the centre-back, with Sevilla demanding a fee in the region of £50million.
Zappacosta set to depart
Outcast Davide Zappacosta is edging closer to sealing a long-awaited permanent departure from Stamford Bridge.
The Italian full-back was a regular in his first season after joining from Torino, but saw his game time decrease thereafter.
Zappacosta has spent the past two seasons on loan in his home country at Roma and Genoa, becoming a key man at the latter.

He has failed to convince Tuchel he can be a long-term option and has entered the final year of his contract with the Blues.
As a result, Chelsea are ready to move him on, with Corriere Dello Sport reporting that Fiorentina have an agreement in place to sign him.
La Viola are understood to have identified the 29-year-old as an ideal option at wing-back, with only the final details of the move left to be ironed out.
Man Utd deliver Tchouameni boost
Manchester United have handed Chelsea a major boost in their pursuit of Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
The 21-year-old has become a regular for the Ligue 1 side since joining from Bordeaux 18 months ago.
He made 42 appearances last season, helping Monaco to a top three finish, and has continued to keep his place this term.
Tchouameni has mainly featured as a defensive midfielder, but has already opened his goalscoring account for the season by slotting in against Sparta Prague in Champions League qualifying.
Both Chelsea and United were believed to be keen on the young midfielder as both clubs seek to boost their midfield options.
And the Blues now appear to be the frontrunners, with the Manchester Evening News stating that United have insisted that they have “no interest” in Tchouameni.
