Manchester United will have an extremely small window to land both Eduardo Camavinga and Pau Torres this summer.
It comes after the two were announced as part of France and Spain’s Olympic squads this month respectively.
The Red Devils are closing in on the signing of Jadon Sancho after a drawn-out transfer saga that has stretched on since last summer.
A fee of £73m has been agreed with Borussia Dortmund – a whopping decrease on the £109m they demanded £109m in 2020.
But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not want to hang around and is already looking to move onto the next target as soon as the deal for Sancho has been confirmed and finalised.
A centre-back and a midfielder are on his wish list and the Norwegian coach already has two names at the top.
Rennes star Camavinga is being eyed for a move as he enters the final year of his contract at the Ligue 1 club.
They have demanded £85m but that figure could come down to as low as £50m, while the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.
While Villarreal ace Torres is the man Solskjaer wants to partner Harry Maguire with at the back while his release clause stands at around £60m.
However, United are against the clock when it comes to securing either signing with the Olympics set to go ahead later this month.
Tokyo hosts this year’s tournament after last summer’s was postponed and France and Spain have announced their squads.
Included are Camavinga and Torres – who are also with their country’s during the Euro 2020 tournament.
It means that neither will have much time to spend looking for new clubs with United eyeing both players.
Should the Red Devils look elsewhere, Solskjaer already has two back-up options on his list – and two arguably bigger names.
Raphael Varane or Pau Torres, who should sign for Manchester United? Comment below
Real Madrid star Raphael Varane is a United target this summer amid claims he could depart the Bernabeu.
Furthermore, the France international sees Old Trafford as the only destination he would leave for – in a potential huge boost to Solskjaer.
While Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka has also been enquired about as he enters the final year of his contract.
But the 26-year-old is more likely to pen a new deal at the Allianz Arena then move to Manchester.
