Amad Diallo has been confirmed as Manchester United’s first signing of the January window, as the Atalanta winger finally joins his new teammates.
The deal to sign the winger was agreed in the final hours of the summer window, but both parties were made to wait, following issues with his work permit.
Those have now been solved with the 18-year-old officially announced as a Red Devil and handed the No.19 shirt in the process.
However, after yet another semi-final defeat, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could look at further incomings to help his side reach the next level in their progression.
United were beaten 2-0 by Man City in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, in their latest final-four failure under the Norwegian.
As well as potential arrivals, Solskjaer is likely to sanction a number of departures as he looks to trim his squad.
Here’s the latest United transfer news and rumours:
Chelsea in for Caicedo
One name that has been extensively linked with a move to Old Trafford is Moises Caicedo.
United were believed to be the front-runners in the race to sign the Independiente del Valle midfielder.
However, reports have claimed Solskjaer’s side have yet to formalise their interest, whereas there has been contact from other suitors.
The 19-year-old is set to make his decision next week as to where he will continue his development.
Williams wants away
Brandon Williams is reportedly ready to leave Manchester United on loan this month as he searches for regular first team football.
Williams has played just six minutes in the league this season, with his only chances coming in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup.
The summer signing of Alex Telles has pushed him down the pecking order on the left, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe and Victor Lindelof have all preferred on the opposite flank.
And according to the MEN, Williams will push for a move this month, with his preference being to join another top-flight club.
Duo told they can leave
While Williams’ future remains up in the air, Solskjaer has confirmed that Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero are likely to leave this month.
The Argentine pair have been told their contracts, which expire at the end of this season, will not be renewed and they are free to find new clubs.
“Both of them have contracts until the summer and they’re not going to be extended,” Solskjaer said.
“We’re looking for them to find clubs. Marcos has been given time to go home, so he’s still in Argentina.
“Sergio has been back home as well to see his family, but they’re professionals, working hard and ready if they are called on for us.
“Marcos will have to travel and do the quarantine before [if he rejoins the squad].”
