Marko Grujic asking price set as Liverpool left to rue missed target

While the proposed European Super League is front and centre of football news at the moment, Liverpool are continuing to plan for the summer transfer window.

There is a great deal of uncertainty on what the Reds transfer budget will be and where income streams will be arriving from next season.

In spite of this, the Reds are putting plans in place to land transfer markets and also move on fringe players to raise transfer funds and ease the wage bill.

Jurgen Klopp will be hopeful of building on his squad for next season and offering a refresh to his current options.

Here are the latest transfer rumours from Anfield.

Liverpool will demand €10m from FC Porto for the permanent signing of loanee Marko Grujic as reported by Portuguese newspaper A Bola and by Sport Witness.

The 25-year-old Serbian international has started four matches on the bounce for the Portuguese giants – featuring in the Champions League quarter-finals against Chelsea.

Porto are once again in the race to land the Portuguese title this year but Grujic has started just five league games, but now appears to once again be in favour at the club.

The report adds that the Reds have set an asking price for the player and are unwilling to budge.

Braga central defender David Carmo “had a foot and a half at Liverpool” this January before the club settled on other transfer targets.

The Portuguese club’s president Antonio Salvador has revealed that Carmo was on the verge of joining the Reds, before the club landed Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.

“We are always under pressure to sell but we have managed to keep our players as long as possible,” Salvador explained to Marca. “In January, David Carmo had a foot and a half at Liverpool, but we ended up keeping him.

“He still has several suitors but we have managed to keep him for now.”
